Online therapy in Edmonton, in Spanish and English
Therazon offers online therapy in Spanish and English for adults, couples and adult families in Edmonton and across Alberta. I am Marilu Cardó G., M.A. Counselling Psychology, an Edmonton-based counsellor. All sessions are online, and you can speak in Spanish, English or both. I am not a registered psychologist in Alberta.
Sometimes an experience sounds different in English than it feels in Spanish. In therapy, you can speak in either language—or move naturally between both—without having to translate the most human parts of your story first.
Choosing informed support
Spanish counselling in Edmonton: understanding the difference from a psychologist
Therazon provides online counselling in Spanish and English for adults in Edmonton and across Alberta. Marilu Cardó G. is a counsellor, not a registered psychologist in Alberta.
In Alberta, psychologists are registered with the College of Alberta Psychologists. Counsellors’ training and professional credentials vary; check the individual provider’s qualifications and the services they offer.
If a referral, assessment, or insurance plan specifically requires a registered psychologist, confirm that requirement before booking. Ask whether the psychologist offers the particular service you need, and verify the psychologist’s registration in CAP’s public directory.
Counselling coverage depends on your plan and the provider’s credentials; do not assume it is covered under a psychologist benefit.

Areas of support
A place for culture, identity, and belonging

- Motherhood and identity changes
- Anxiety, low mood, and self-esteem
My approach
Bilingual means more than translating words
As a Mexican and American immigrant in Canada, with close experience across multiple cultural contexts and a professional background in an immigration law setting, I understand how belonging can feel layered and complicated.
Culturally responsive therapy makes room for values, family roles, faith or spirituality when you choose, language, migration, community, and the social realities surrounding your life. Your culture is part of the meaning—not a detail added at the end.
