Adult family psychotherapy for relationships that matter deeply.
Families can carry love, history, responsibility, grief, and misunderstanding all at once. Therapy can offer a more intentional place to hear one another and work with the patterns affecting the family as a whole.
Areas of support
Family arrangements I currently work with
- Parents and adult children
- Adult siblings
- Co-parenting families
- Extended-family relationships
- Intergenerational and cultural differences
- Communication, roles, boundaries, caregiving, grief, and transition
My approach
The family unit is the client
I work collaboratively and do not assign one family member the role of being the problem. Informed by structural family therapy and other relational approaches, we look at interaction patterns, needs, responsibilities, and the meanings each person brings into the room.
Before beginning, we clarify goals, participation, record keeping, communication outside sessions, confidentiality, and its limits. Everyone taking part must be 18 or older.
