General information only
The information on this website is educational and general. It is not a diagnosis, medical or legal advice, emergency care, or a substitute for services from a qualified professional who understands your circumstances.
No psychotherapy relationship through the website
Visiting this website, booking or completing a consultation, sending an email, or leaving a telephone message does not by itself create a psychotherapist-client relationship. A professional relationship begins only after fit, scope, informed consent, privacy, fees, and other practice terms have been reviewed and accepted.
Eligibility, location, and scope
Therazon offers virtual psychotherapy to adults 18+. All participants in couples and family services must be at least 18. Alberta is the primary service area. Work with an adult located in another stated Canadian jurisdiction is considered only after applicable professional requirements, client location, and insurance coverage are confirmed. Eligibility can change and is not guaranteed.
Therazon does not provide psychological assessment or diagnosis, medication management, emergency response or crisis monitoring, court-ordered treatment, custody or fitness assessments, reunification therapy, legal mediation, forensic opinions, or specialized EMDR, CPT, exposure, or PTSD protocols.
A request may be declined or referred when it falls outside current education, training, competence, safety parameters, or virtual-practice requirements. Joint couples or family work may not be appropriate when coercion, violence, or another serious safety concern prevents meaningful consent or safe participation.
Not an emergency service
Therazon is not monitored continuously and is not an emergency or crisis service. If there is immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. For suicide-crisis support in Canada, call or text 988.
Fees, payment, cancellation, and insurance
Current fees are posted on the website and confirmed before booking. Payment may be made by card, e-transfer, or through Owl Practice as arranged. Therazon does not offer direct insurance billing.
At least 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations, missed appointments, and arrivals more than 15 minutes late are charged the full session fee, subject to one emergency late-cancellation waiver every six months. A session that begins late still ends at its scheduled time.
Insurance reimbursement depends on the client’s plan. Clients must confirm whether virtual psychotherapy services provided by Marilu Cardó G., M.A. Counselling Psychology, are eligible under their specific plan. A receipt does not guarantee coverage or reimbursement.
Technology interruptions
If a connection fails, therapist and client first attempt to reconnect or continue by telephone. If the problem is on Therazon’s side and the session cannot continue, affected time is rescheduled without charge. If the problem is on the client’s side and telephone backup is not possible, the late-cancellation policy may apply.
Couples and adult-family services
For couples work, the relationship is the client. For adult-family work, the family unit is the client. Therazon does not take sides or act as an advocate for one participant against another. Additional consent, record, communication, confidentiality, and safety-screening terms are reviewed before joint work begins.
Website use and external services
Use this website lawfully and do not attempt to disrupt, copy, probe, or bypass its security. Website text, design, and original brand materials may not be reproduced commercially without permission.
Email, telephone, Owl Practice, video, scheduling, payment, and other external services have their own availability and privacy terms. Therazon is not responsible for outages or content on unaffiliated external websites.
Changes and questions
Services, fees, availability, and these terms may be updated when practice needs or applicable requirements change. The current version will be posted here. Questions may be sent to info@therazon.ca.
