Online counselling throughout Alberta.

You can access Therazon from a city, a small town or a rural community in Alberta. The practice is based in Edmonton; every appointment is online.

Where you can attend

Alberta is the current service area.

Online counselling is available for eligible adults in all Alberta cities, towns and rural communities, including Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer, Lethbridge, Grande Prairie and communities between them. These are places clients can join from, not Therazon office locations. There is no public clinical office.

You must be physically in Alberta at the time of each session. For couples and adult families, this applies to every participant, including people joining from separate homes. A home address in Alberta alone does not establish eligibility while travelling elsewhere.

If you will be outside Alberta, contact Therazon before booking or travelling. Availability in another province is not confirmed. Services cannot be accepted until the applicable professional requirements, clinical suitability and professional-liability coverage have been established.

Counselling in English, Spanish or both

I am Marilu Cardó G., M.A. Counselling Psychology, Canadian Certified Counsellor (C.C.C.), certified by the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. I offer counselling within my education, training and competence. I am not a registered psychologist in Alberta and do not provide psychological assessments or diagnoses.

You can speak in English, Spanish or move between them. We can discuss anxiety, low mood, grief, life transitions, migration, identity or relationship concerns, according to the service and your needs. We first consider whether my approach and the online format are appropriate for you.

Before booking

Make room for a private conversation.

Choose a private space where you can speak freely, use a reliable connection and consider headphones. We review consent, confidentiality and its limits, your current location, a local emergency contact and a plan for a lost connection through the secure intake process. Therazon is not an emergency or crisis service.

Check your benefits with your insurer

Health insurance or employee benefits may reimburse all or part of sessions with a Canadian Certified Counsellor (C.C.C.). Coverage depends on your plan, the counselling service and the online format. Confirm provider eligibility, limits and claim requirements before booking. Individual benefits do not automatically include couples or family sessions. Receipts are provided; reimbursement is not guaranteed and direct billing is not offered.

Start with a free 15-minute consultation

The telephone or video consultation gives you time to ask about fit, language, location, fees and availability. It is not a counselling session or clinical assessment, and there is no obligation to continue. If you choose to begin, we review consent and practical arrangements before the first paid session and agree on what you would like to work on.

Owl Practice opens in a new tab. Read what to expect or ask an administrative question. For a location question, your province, preferred language and general availability are enough; do not send your clinical history by ordinary email.
